I'm all about greasy hole in the wall places, but this place should be condemned! Old 60's-70's feel, but not the cool retro look. The bar is warped, the booths/chairs leave much to be desired, the flooring is cracked, etc. The bartender doesn't like her job and makes it known. Horrible service and the food was edible, but that's about it. The bartender isn't very knowledgeable or friendly, even after you leave a nice sized tip. If you aren't squimish about sanitary glasses, then you'd be okay, but I'm not a fan of finding lemon seeds in my drinks and the way they clean the glasses is dunking them in filled sinks, which after being there for a few hours, never saw the water changed. Udderly disgusting to say the least! This place needs a visit from the health inspector bad! The food tasted like nail polish remover too. I won't be back, sad because there's a lot of potential, but it feels like the owner/staff just don't care. The outdoor seating is really nice, besides the cobwebs hanging from the ceiling/lights and it's on the water which could also be cool.

This is about as hole-in-the-wall as it gets, but it is a hidden gem in Saint Francis. In a town where dinning out is very limited, the Rum River Inn (formerly a brothel in its previous life 50+ yrs ago) has some of the best food specials I have ever seen. I have gotten a sirloin lunch with an excellent salad, bread stick, and vegetable for under $7. It's not bad food either! I would highly recommend this to you and your family. Sit out on the patio if possible, it will only add to your experience.

This bar restaurant has a beautiful patio overlooking the river. Their menu is great, with extremely reasonable prices! Everything is a little run down and shabby, but that doesn't bother me at all. The reason I no longer go to the Rum River Inn is because of the unbelievably bad service! EVERY TIME I'VE BEEN THERE! The management needs to get rid of our retrain their staff!

I agree with Ashlee. Woof! Terrible food. Terrible service. The bar tenders are too busy trying to out tramp each other then pay attention to food orders or drinks running low. We haven't tied the patio yet....its a great location- right on the river- but could well be equally disappointing as the rest of the damn place. PS- it use to be a brother. If that doesn't turn you stomach from eating there good luck!

Marginal food and service. Great summer stop on the bike to have a beer on the patio. A little tired on the inside, but priced right. Drinks are good. Don't go out of your way or take her there on a first date...

Food is horrible, Cleanliness is non existent, Service is appalling. The bathrooms are so bad, I wouldn't let my dogs use them The dining room carpet is sticky and stained. Heath Department should shut this place down. Outside Patio has more cobwebs than my pole barn. VERY SAD - nice location

I hate to say it, but try as I might I have never had a good dining experience here. Food is blah, and their bad service is legendary. Their only saving grace is their teas (the adult kind) and their patio, which are the best around. Come have a drink here in the summer and enjoy the river view, otherwise stay far, far away.

If you are in St Francis and hungry...drive right by the Rum River Inn. Not worth it. I do not eat fast food, but guessing you can get a better meal at McDonalds. This place is a dive. It is right on the Rum River, but there is so much brush that you can't see it. The food is pretty bad. Our table ordered fish n chips, hamburger, chicken sandwich and ribs. All agreed...not good.
